Solidarity Is the Spirit of the Season

Thank you to everyone who contributed gifts and donations for Operation Christmas Basket, and to all who volunteered their time to help organize the toys, stuff gift bags, sign holiday cards, fill envelopes, and collect the presents and distribute them to our union families in need. It is a joy to know that each one of the gifts filling the tables in our offices will put a smile on the face of a child in a union family and offer a little relief to their hardworking parents and guardians.

Together we provided solidarity support to nearly 150 families and over 300 children to help make the season merry and bright and to ease the budgetary burden on our working families during the holidays. Our solidarity is our strength, and our willingness to give to those in need in a spirit of mutual aid is our guiding light through the dark days of capitalist greed and worker exploitation.

The labor movement leads the way forward by being the change we wish to see in the world—by showing that Christmas isn’t something you buy in a store—even when the bosses want to take everything from us, down to the last can of Who hash.

Christmas Day will always be
